18th Street Addition

Completed 2020

This is an above-garage addition that added two bedrooms, one bathroom, an office, and a roof deck. The addition is accessed through a new 2-story sunroom. The project incorporates daylit spaces with operable clerestory windows for added air circulation, custom built-in closets and desks, and focuses on highlighting the natural materials used, including the glu-lam beams used to support the new structure. It also features the use of rigid insulation on the exterior of the stud walls and a back-vented cladding assembly, as discussed in this post.
