Pierce Park Addition
Design completed 2022
This project began with three initial design schemes to add a foyer, laundry, and additional bedroom and bathroom space to a 100-year-old bungalow. Special attention was paid to blending the addition into the historic nature of the home.
After the owner decided on Scheme 2, we refined the floorplan and exterior. Because of the home’s small square footage, special built-ins were designed for the foyer and off the kitchen as a pantry area. The home is in a WUI zone (Wildland Urban Interface), which is an area that is susceptible to wildfire from the foothills. Exterior materials and detailing focused on fire resistance for the new addition as well as the old house.
